It’s an event like no other. Dancing on the tables, yelling, screaming and a high level of competition. All for none other than the fourth annual E.P.I.C trivia night.
Each year E.P.I.C hosts the “Teens Only” trivia night and receives a tremendous turnout.”Last year I believe we had nearly 250 kids, but each year the number has grown so this year we are hoping for 300 plus,” E.P.I.C sponsor Mrs. Donna Nahlik said.
The trivia night began as an effort to promote a drug and alcohol free event among students. The trivia night has turned into a fundraiser for E.P.I.C to help fun other drug and alcohol free events.
Students form teams of 8 to 10 students in the weeks leading up to the event. Each team costs $100 or $12 to $10 a student.
This trivia night is in a 10 round format. Round categories have been chosen by E.P.I.C council members and could include a range from sports to history to karaoke. “My favorite part about the trivia night is that the questions are actually stuff that we might know,” sophomore Jordan Garella said.
The winning team will receive a cash prize. Throughout the night various games will be played with the possibility of winning more cash prizes.
Students are encouraged to bring food and decorate their table. E.P.I.C will provide each participant with two drinks and some snacks.
This year the event will be Friday, Jan. 23. Doors will open at 6 p.m and trivia will begin at 7 p.m.
“I love the trivia night. It’s a super fun night for my friends, and I to do something totally different than what we normally do,” junior Samantha Thompson said.
