The sun is shining, people are tanning and students cannot stop whining. It’s that time of the year: the end.
Summer is well on its way, but that does not mean it’s the time to slack off. Whether you have self-diagnosed yourself with “senoiritis,” “junioritis,” “sophomore-itis,” or even something as ridiculous as “freshmen-itis,” snap out of it.
Everyone is ready to venture out this summer. We all want to sleep in until noon, fry up some baby back ribs and jump into the pool. That doesn’t mean everyone needs to talk complain about it. Calm down, and keep studying.
Finals are closer than they appear. Be smart and do not believe all this hype about blowing off homework until the last minute. Not everyone can speed through homework in five minutes. Results will vary if you attempt it, so don’t even try.
We all have our periods of laziness. Sometimes these moments can last a day, sometimes a week or so. As the year drags on, the students do the same. Transformed from the highly-motivated, wide-eyed individuals of first quarter come the lazy, dreary-eyed zombies of fourth quarter. Something needs to change, or a few GPA’s will instead.
Twitter and Instagram can be informed of your trip to Annie’s after that English paper is completed and that WebAssign is done. The struggle is real. Trust me, I know, but don’t make that the hashtag of your life. Your followers will greatly appreciate it.
Take my word for it. This is not the time to get lazy. Save that attitude for college when you have a bit more time on your hands. Better yet, just stay focused. It will pay off in the long run.
