Graduating juniors and seniors have exactly one month until their last day of school and the clock is ticking. Don’t get swept up in senioritis and forget any crucial elements to ending your high school career on top.
First off, keep your grades as high as they were first quarter. Yes, there are only a couple weeks left until school is out, but if it’s enough time to raise your letter grade up, then it’s enough time to drop it down to nothing. Don’t spend all day studying, but instead, take your free moments in between classes to look over your notes.
Next, continue to attend EHS sporting and performing art’s events. Maybe golf and football are over, but baseball and softball are playing this season, and the bleachers are waiting for you. Still make an attempt at drawing on orange and black face-paint tiger-stripes and consistently wearing Orange Rush shirts. Just because you’re on the fine line of high-school and college doesn’t mean your hometown tigers have faded out of style quite yet.
Talk to a couple students and staff you’ve been meaning to get to know throughout your last year, or even the last four years, at EHS. Begin watching “The Office” and stop in with Cara Lane for weekly visits to catch up on the series; she’ll get quite a kick out of that. Send Sairee Knabe a “get well soon” card while she’s on maternity leave in May. Tell the cute boy you see on your way to sixth hour that he looks good, and see what his reaction is. You never know who could end up making a difference, looking back, on your memories of EHS.
