The EHS girls’ volleyball team made the drive last weekend to Lyons High School in Chicago, Illinois. The girls competed against teams from the Chicago area and some other northern Illinois teams and really showed their stripes.
The team played a total of five games, winning two and losing three.
“The competition was much better than most of the teams we play down here,” junior Korrine Croft said, “Chicago teams are generally better, so it was fun to play them all.”
Sophomore Rachel Anderson also said that the competition was tough, but the team pulled through.
“We played very well as a team over all and finally came out of our slump and played like tigers,” Anderson said.
Croft said that the team did not place first but this weekend was really about getting the girls ready for post season.
“We are physically and mentally ready. We all just need to want each win more than anything and we will achieve great things,” Croft said.
The team believes they will go far in the post season. Croft thinks that if the girls are on top of their game and come together as one mentally that they will go very far in this post season.
Now that the regular season has ended, the girls had their first post season game this Tuesday against Alton and dominated the court, taking home a tiger victory. The next post season game will be away, tonight at 6:00 against Quincy.
Come out and help the girls achieve a tiger victory.
