EHS Wrestling has prepared all season, trying to be successful in the post season. After getting ready all year, it is here.
The boys will go to regionals on Feb. 7 to wrestle the entire Southwestern Conference and Quincy in the regional tournament.
“I know we will do well because we are the conference champs,” junior Cameron Blair said.
Blair was out with an injury for most of the season, along with a few other wrestlers like sophomore Cyress Ahart, senior James Ziegler and junior Chris Prosser. That did not stop them from coming out on top in their conference and hopefully at regionals.
The boys will each wrestle in their weight class and since it is a team tournament instead of individual, the boys will try to rack up as many points for the team as possible.
But that is not the end of the season. Next up is sectionals, individuals and team.
The Tigers hope to make it a good season and hopefully bringing boys to the individual state tournament. With only three seniors on the roster, they show good leadership and hope to carry their team all the way to win regionals and more.
“I think if everybody wrestles to their full potential then we have a chance to qualify for dual team state and become top 8 in the state,” senior Tanner Ambry said.
