This year at EHS, the Student Council hosted an event to display the talent of many students. The acts varied from several bands, individual vocalists, group and individual dance routines, a comedy routine, pianists and many other great acts.
Thirty acts took the stage on Wednesday, Feb 1. “C’est La Vie” kicked off the show with a cover of “We Found Love.” The ever-present EHS band “Exit 12” performed an excellent acoustic cover of “Broken,” by Seether featuring Amy Lee, which was a true change of pace for the band that is known for their choice Green Day-esqe songs.
Several students performed solo, like sophomore Thea Harper, who wrote, sang and performed on her acoustic guitar her own song, titled “Beautiful Eyes.” Senior Doug Babb entertained the crowd with his stand-up routine and even took some small jabs at the school, but it was all in good fun.
Soloists, duos and groups took the stage with dance routines. Senior Ty Kuttin-Ferguson and junior Courtney White fired up the crowd with a high-flying dance routine that included many flips, kicks and tricks. The EHS Dance Team performed their competition routine to a hip-hop montage.
The show closed with Stan Meeks playing his own piano arrangement of “You Are My Sunshine.”
This event had not taken place at EHS for several years, and the student body, staff and community members packed the house. The cost of entry was a canned good donation to the Glen-Ed Food Pantry. Student Council collected enough canned goods to fill a car.
