What is the capital of Uganda? What is the name of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s child? Where was spaghetti first invented? Expect the unexpected when it comes to the questions at the EPIC Trivia Night this Friday Jan. 31.
EPIC has been putting on this trivia night for 4 years now.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity to have some fun while also supporting a great club,” junior Hannah Hasty said. This is Hasty’s first year to participate in the trivia night, but she hopes to have a good time with her friends and maybe even learn something new.
People may think that no teenager would want to spend their Friday night at a trivia, but they would be wrongly mistaken. In fact, junior Julia Hannon thinks that more people should come out to this event. This will be Hannon’s second year attending the trivia night.
“It proves you don’t have to be out partying to have a good time with your friends,” Hannon said. Even though she didn’t think her team did well last year she still had fun.
It costs $100 per table, with up to 10 participates. Soda and popcorn are provided to everyone and students may bring more food. Some students even will bring whole pizzas to eat while they are playing.
Senior Kristen Francis, who is on EPIC council, explains that each member is supposed to get a table of 10 people.
“It can be hard to get teenagers to want to pay $10, but if they go one year they usually want to go again,” Francis said. Her favorite part is the music category because everyone starts to sing the lyrics while they are playing.
The questions of the night will range anywhere from history, to the latest news about the Kardashians. So put on the thinking caps because the team that knows the most random facts can win a cash prize.
It will be hosted in the EHS commons. The doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia begins at 7 p.m.
